Meet Sam

Hey, I’m Sam — an online health and fitness coach helping adults build stronger, healthier lives.

Growing up, I didn’t see the value in exercise, nutrition, or healthy habits. As I got older, I realized movement was a way to feel good, which led me to study Kinesiology. My interest in human movement grew, but my own lifestyle was still out of balance — I lifted weights, but was unaware of the other pillars of health.

As an adult, my logic was simple: if I pushed harder, I’d get better results. I trained intensely, ran long distances, slept less, and tried to do more, believing effort alone would get me where I wanted to go. Instead, the harder I pushed, the more burnt out and frustrated I became. My results didn’t reflect the work I was putting in.

Realizing I needed a better foundation, I dove deeper into nutrition — for myself and for the people I wanted to help. I earned my Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, which gave me the tools to support sustainable change, not just hard effort.

Over time, I shifted my approach. In my own life, I moved from extremes toward balanced, intentional effort across the major pillars of health and fitness. I learned that hard work matters — but it’s most effective when it’s supported by recovery, clarity, and habits that align with your goals.

Here’s how those shifts looked for me:

Running: From strict marathon schedules, all or nothing thinking, and constant exhaustion → to running for cardiovascular health, enjoyment, and still pursuing meaningful distance goals I can sustain.

Strength Training: From chasing a specific physique and no pain no gain mentality → to building strength consistently and training in a way that supports long-term progress.

Mobility & Flexibility: From always trying to fix injuries → to working proactively so I feel good and stay resilient.

Sleep: From sacrificing rest to get more done → to prioritizing sleep to feel better tomorrow.

Nutrition: From restriction or convenience eating → to fuelling myself in a way that supports energy, recovery, and long-term health.

Social Connection: From saying yes to everything → to choosing the relationships and environments that genuinely enrich my life.

Even with these changes, my life isn’t perfectly balanced. I continue to observe, reflect, and adjust — figuring out what to add, what to remove, and how to approach these pillars in a sustainable way. Balance isn’t the absence of effort; it’s the foundation that makes effort effective.

I’ve helped many clients achieve their health and fitness goals, from building strength to navigating everyday habits to pursuing ambitious milestones. I look forward to helping you do the same. Today, I value movement, nutrition, and lifestyle alignment because they add to my life instead of taking away from it — and they allow me to work hard without burning out.

Outside of coaching, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, discovering new music, running, lifting weights, making good food, and spending my time with friends and family.
